A Special Message from Scott Mendes:
Dear Friends and Ministry Partners of Western Harvest Ministries,
What an honor and privilege it is to be able to take a few moments to review this past year of ministry with you. I’m always amazed at the incredible opportunities that the Lord will bring across our path here at Western Harvest, if we just remain faithful and sensitive to His leadings.
One of the ways that we do that is to pray continuously for strength to be led by desire in being obedient to His will and to put His requests above our own. As you probably already know, that’s not always easy. I do know, however, that if one is ever going to be effective in ministry we must learn how to do exactly that and to seek to do it with a willing heart, even if we don’t understand or think that things might not be done otherwise.
In simple cowboy terms we just need to stick to the original vision that the Lord so graciously bestowed upon us as we answered His call to serve Him. When the Lord called us so many years ago, he also gave us the name, “ Western Harvest Ministries” and when he gave us this name, he spoke to our heart and shared that we would be allowed to “Harvest” all the souls that we were able to be a witness to, both through our personal lives and my professional career. We vowed to wholeheartedly follow Him no matter the cost or how big the beasts that stood in front of us might be.
Like any other ministry, we too have spent years doing our very best in building our foundation upon the rock (Jesus) and in doing that, we are promised to be able to withstand all storms. We are living proof that God’s word and the promised principles within are without a doubt, the strongest materials to build on. Many of you reading this letter have, over the years, been faithful ministry partners and have been witness to the various years of growth and changing seasons. Even though some of our platforms may alternate, the one thing that has not is the fact that harvesting is going forward and that’s only because God himself has been so steadfast and true to what he has spoken over our family and ministry.
This past year has been an amazing year for sure. And while some things in our personal life have taken some dramatic turns and quite literally brought us to seek the Lord from our knees, we have been so blessed with how He has continued to open doors with unique opportunities to share the gospel.
It seems to me that only the Lord himself is the one that best can faithfully move his children in new and creative ways. Some of these ways, we did not immediately understand as we were looking at them through our natural eyes. As we trusted him with our obedience to his leading though, we saw that each new type of opportunity ended the same as original platforms, with harvest.
Our Heavenly Father sees the ending before the beginning yet we are called to operate with the same kind of faith as the farmer that God references in his word. There are several very important steps, (breaking the ground, sewing the seed, watering and cultivating and then harvesting) that are required before the season of harvest can take place.
Our mission is both simple and clear in that we labor to use every means possible to reach the western world with the the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The second part of our mission is to assist those that we have reached with the necessary discipleship training through various outreaches.
To accomplish the mission that he has given us, we have learned that we must look to and trust him that he will provide all of the resources and partners that are needed to bring forth a plentiful harvest of souls. We would like to ask you to seek the Lord in prayer and consider riding with us on this journey by making a year-end donation for 2025 and/or also becoming a monthly Harvest partner in 2026.
Please know that we are so very grateful for your faithful prayers and/or support. We take your trust in us with your financial resources VERY seriously and we know that you do this in a sincere desire to aid us in reaching even more people and that our shared desire is truly from the Lord. He promises to ride with us as we learn to trust him and to stay focused on meeting the needs of others so that through all our partnerships, he may be honored and glorified in the advancement of His Kingdom here on earth. Please read on to see just a few of those platforms and opportunities that we produced and/or participated in in 2025 and see just how your faithful support and partnership enabled us to make a lasting impact for the gospel.

First and foremost, I would like to thank you for your faithfulness in doing the Lord’s work. The study and service you bring every Sunday has been an absolute blessing for my wife and me. Luke Shannon
In this recommendation of Scott, I am going to try to commend him for working in a parallel ministry though he is at an executive level and I was in a support role then. I am acknowledging Scott for his service, not only for what he has done in the Bullring with his attitude , drive and faith, but his continued
outreach in the call of The Lord. Praises to you for this WAY. Bill Rendall, Owner and Non-Profit Director of Horse Oaks Ranches.
Good afternoon brother, how have you been? I am doing saddle repairs and while I was working on one the other day, I heard a voice on the TV. It was you in your Prodigal Cowboy movie. I love how you portrayed the troubled cowboy and how God is continually using you in Christian media. I will be continuing to pray for you and your family. Anthony
